CLOTHING:
GENERAL STYLE:
Inspired by her mother’s and father’s style, so wears a mix of sophisticated and artsy with a girl-next-door undertone. It fluctuates usually between these three styles during her years at Hogwarts.
CASUAL:
When she's lazying about the house, or doesn't feel like dressing up to go to the grocer, she wears an untucked colorful dress-shirt, with a cardigan, slacks and a pair of trainers. If she's longboarding around town, she might put on a pair of jeans instead.
SEMI-FORMAL:
This is her typical go-to day-to-day way to dress. A nice dress-shirt or blouse with a shawl or cardigan, slacks or a long-lengthed skirt, and low-heeled shoes or flats. She may accessorize with broaches and other jewelery, and a belt to tailor her waistline.
FORMAL:
The only event she went to was the Yule ball at the Triwizard tournament. Her mother hand-sewed it, and Addy still has the dress tucked away. It's an ankle-length icy-blue dress with a trumpet flare hem embroidered in a floral pattern with gold thread, and a modest cut up to her right knee. with a light ruffle. The fabric of the dress has a strappless horizontal neckline, and dips down to her lower back. What holds the dress up is gold lace from her neck down to three-quarters down her arms, but still revealing her back. She pairs this dress with gold heels, dangling ear cuffs and bracelets, shimmery eyeshadow with a bold eyeliner and lipstick, wearing her hair up into a loose bun.
UNIFORM:
Black, long-sleeved, ankle-length robes with a partial opening closed with cloth buttons, along with black leather shoes, and accessorized with a silver belt, jingling with little bells at the end, and a silver snake pin attached to the side of her tall, black, rimless pointed hat.
MYERS-BRIGGS:
INFJ, INTJ
Introvert (I): | Predominantly concerned with her own thoughts and feelings rather than with external things. |
---|---|
Intuition (N): | Predominantly processes information through patterns, reading between the lines, and impressions, and value inspiration and imagination. |
Feeling(F)/Thinking (T): | She has a balance of thinking and feeling features, making decisions based on facts, as well as making decisions based on their principles and values. |
Judging (J): | Predominantly lives by schedules and completing tasks one by one. |
BIG 5
OPENNESS: | Not at all open to new experiences, unless it gets her what she wants. Be on the Quidditch team? Heck no! She doesn't want to get knocked around on a broomstick, and for what? Some house points? Please! Slug Club? Nah—but wait! Draco would be peeved about it? Sure then! Why not? She's not too busy those hours. Travel abroad? Eh, she'd rather stay home, but if there's something there that she wants, she'll grit her teeth and bare it. |
---|---|
AGREEABLENESS: | Doesn’t at all adjust her attitude or behavior to suit others. Sometimes tact and careful wording can make things easier, but Addy mostly finds it a bother. Some people just can't take a hint that she doesn't like them, so she'll straight up tell them and why. She'll call out her own friends for their behavior, particularly if they're whining and not doing anything about it. She'll call out Professor Snape in class about his unfairness towards students—head of Slytherin house be damned. |
CONSCIENTIOUSNESS: | Very honest and hardworking. There's nothing she hates more than people who take short-cuts or delegates tasks onto someone else. Hard work pays off eventually. Why should lazy people, or people who bribe people, get what they want? |
NEUROTICISM: | Regularly shows her emotions. Just like she doesn't hold back with her hard work and staying true to herself, her emotions are another thing she doesn't hold back in. If she's sad, she's sad. If she's angry, she's angry, and she won't apologize for it. If others are uncomfortable seeing her cry, that's their issue. |
MORAL ALIGNMENT TYPE:
NEUTRAL GOOD - CHAOTIC GOOD
NEUTRAL GOOD: | Work with people in power and are devoted to helping others, but don't necessarily have a bias in either direction. |
---|---|
CHAOTIC GOOD: | They have their own morals that may conflict with society, but are ultimately benevolent and have kind hearts. |
PEARSON-MARR ARCHETYPE:
CAREGIVER - LOVER
CAREGIVER: | Generative, loving and compassionate. Tends to take care of others. |
---|---|
LOVER: | Has a longing for commitment and passion, and has a tendency towards infatuation, seduction, yearning, and falling in love (with a person, an idea, a cause, or work). |
HOLLAND CODE:
ENTERPRISING / PERSUADER - CONVENTIONAL / ORGANIZER
ENTERPRISING / PERSUADER: | Likes to work with people, influencing, persuading, leading or managing for organizational goals or economic gain. |
---|---|
CONVENTIONAL / ORGANIZER: | Likes to work with data, has clerical or numerical ability, carries out tasks in detail, or follows through on others' instructions. |
ENNEAGRAM:
REFORMER - INVESTIGATOR
REFORMER: | Conscientious and ethical, with a strong sense of right and wrong, always wanting to improve things, but afraid of making a mistake. |
---|---|
INVESTIGATOR: | Alert, insightful, and curious, able to focus on developing complex ideas and skills, and become preoccupied with their thoughts and imaginary constructions. |
MYTHCREANTS SIX FLAWS
ADDICTION: | If something is needling at her and bothering her, she’ll ignore it by focusing on her studies and practice instead of facing her problems. |
---|---|
AVERSION: | She’s careful with handling knives or any other sharp objects. |
FEAR: | She has a minor fear of people thinking negatively about her. While she rarely holds back, she does have a twinge of a thought that maybe she should hold back more for this small belief that people think badly of her for one reason or another, but when she figures that most of those beliefs are based solely on the house she resides in, she just thinks "fuck it" and goes right back to acting her usual self. |
IMMORTALITY: | A little pessimism is fine. |
INCOMPETENCY: | She has the knowledge to share, knows the steps on how to make it possible, but has little patience to actually teach and lead others. |
POOR JUDGEMENT: | She tends to let information from others sit where it lies and doesn't do anything about it. If it seems important, she'll look into it, but even she makes mistakes and may act rashly based purely on what she's been told, but this is rare. |
VIA CHARACTER STRENGTHS
COURAGE (Strength of Heart): | She is fearless when it comes to physical dangers, and isn’t afraid of looking within herself to find her faults, nor is she afraid to speak out against any wrong-doing, but she can seem aggressive because because of this. On the other hand, if she is afraid of something, or isn’t feeling her best, she doesn’t tend to want to talk to others about it, even if it’s easy for others to see, and because she tends to be a workaholic when she’s stressed, she has an extreme sense of perseverance. Overall, she feels accomplished and confident, and loves to spread her joy to the people she cares about, even if they aren’t up to it, which can be annoying to some. |
---|---|
HUMANITY (Strength of Others): | She’s kind to others without needing a reason to or expecting any benefits from showing kindness, and has a strong sense of love, whether it be towards her parents, her friends, or a potential romantic partner. However, she has a very weak sense about other people—what they think of her or what sort of person they are—so it takes more time for her to begin distrusting someone, and when she does put the pieces together, she may still be hesitant on what to do about it. |
JUSTICE (Strength of Community): | With her strong sense of reasoning and morality, she’s seen as someone who’s able to make fair judgements, but with her extreme sense of empathy, putting herself in someone else’s shoes can make those judgements difficult to make. That being said, she has little patience for people, so while she knows the steps and list of tasks to help or teach people, she would make a poor leader, but she’s a good at teamwork when there’s a goal she’s working towards. |
TEMPERANCE (Strength of Self): | In the process of forgiving someone, Addy tends to work hard to pretend it didn’t happen, and eventually forgets the offense, but the feelings of the offense lingers, so repairing the relationship takes more work. She knows herself, and never tries to act “better” than she is, but because she is so aware of her limitations, she has a hard time to try and overcome those limitations or make promises that would force her to go beyond her limits. She is able to create long-term and short-term plans without any outside influence with an extreme sense of task-oriented self-regulation. |
TRANSCENDENCE (Strength of Spirit): | Addy doesn’t tend to value a physical kind of beauty, whether it be art, music or anything else, including something of an abstract nature, and while she can see someone else’s skills and talents, she doesn’t feel any drive or motivation to improve herself; however she strives to better herself morally when she meets someone she feels has a purer self that exudes goodness. She has a strong sense of gratitude, recognizing and appreciating the benefits and always wants to return the favor. She is extremely optimistic and hopeful, even when things don’t go according to plan, creating alternate plans to get herself back on track. She has a good sense of humor, enjoying making others smile and laugh. Due to her upbringing, she has an extreme sense in spirituality—the force and beauty of nature—which shapes her beliefs and actions, and brings comfort to her. |
WISDOM (Strength of Mind): | Very creative, too curious for her own good, and spends too much time researching multiple perspectives of various topics, but has an average sense of love for learning new things; however this fuels her overbearing sense of perspective. |
PHILOSOPHIES:
Eudaimonism - Idealism - Meliorism
Addy believes that actions based on good thoughts and intentions will bring happiness and if this goodness spreads to others, this can improve her surroundings (if not the wizarding community or even the world), in addition that her knowledge is dependent on an active mind.
HOBBIES:
Solving puzzles, long-boarding, reading, singing, and journaling.
FAMILY:
Magnolia Pentti nee Rog: | She is Addy's confidante, pillar of strength, moral compass, and inspiration for personal strength. Because she's always been frank with Addy, Addy finds little reason to hide anything from her. Honesty is valued more than anything between them, even if it's something neither one wants to hear. |
---|---|
(Mother) | |
Urho Pentti: | An elderly wizard whom had his magic stripped back in his home country, Lapland, and was put into exile for his betrayal, supporting Grindelwald, and his cowardice when abandoning his family while in danger, resulting in his child’s death. He moved to Britain and had a hard time to fit in with the Muggles as a secret ex-wizard foreigner, but managed. He and Magnolia eventually met, and he helped her transition to the Muggle life as well, even going so far as to marry her so that he would have custody of Addy just in case anything happened to her (and the name change helped hide her identity). Despite being married, they both agreed to live in separate apartments. While he treats Addy like his own daughter, they more or less have a grandparent-grandchild-uncle-niece relationship where she calls him “isa” (“father”) to keep it simple. He calls her “muru”, which means “crumb”.He sings her the old stories of home and gave her a translated version of the Kalevala to inspire her during her stay at Hogwarts. Addy knows he isn’t her biological father, and the relationship between him and her mother is confusing, but she certainly feels love and affection enough that it hardly matters to her, as long as everyone is happy. |
(Step-Father) | |
Lucius Malfoy: | He and Magnolia had a purely physical relationship to distract each other from their family and family history. They did care about each other, but Lucius chose his duty for his family and quit any progress that could have developed between him and Magnolia. It was right after his marriage with Narcissa that Magnolia ran from home and broke contact with him. He didn't even know she had a daughter until before Draco's second year when they were shopping for school supplies. He had seen Magnolia with a wedding ring and an elderly gentleman, and assumed Magnolia had strange taste in men and he was Addy’s father. |
(Father) | |
Draco Malfoy: | Draco judged Addy purely by her muggle clothing and didn’t give Addy a good first impression after his snide remarks, even well after she was sorted into Slytherin house, which only got worse after she began helping other students of other houses and kept calling out Snape for his bullying behavior, which costs Slytherin house points. However, whatever Draco dished out, Addy matched with a sly vigor. Addy noticed that Draco was a good student—better than Crabbe and Goyle, at least—and maybe if they put the bullying aside they could be friends, but the blood purity mentality was something Addy couldn’t stand. Neither knew they were siblings until their seventh year, which makes that embarrassing memory of Snape partnering them up to learn how to dance for the Yule Ball all the ever more awkward. |
(Half-Brother) | |
Eloise Rog nee Torosian and Berinhard Rog: |
The Rog and Torosian family were among the recent few that were taken off the Pure-Blood list, and these two vowed to get back onto it and be recognized again. They put an immense amount of pressure on Magnolia to marry a pure-blood, and if she ever disobeyed, they would lock her into a dark, mirrored room with a monster they bred from a dementor and a boggart—a thing that hates its reflection, and feeds on a person’s guilt and insecurities. Voldemort became interested in these monsters, and took Eloise under his fold, promising her the recognition she deserved. |
(Maternal Grandmother and Grandfather [deceased]) |
FRIENDS:
Neville Longbottom: | They met in the train car with Hermione Granger and she helped him look for his toad, Trevor. He seemed shy and sweet, so she was bewildered by Snape’s abuse towards him. She helped him as much as she could get away with. Neville was weary at first, because she was of Slytherin house, and she seemed to be getting bullied herself by helping him, but he warmed up to her eventually. |
---|---|
Luna Lovegood: | When students were ordered back to their dorm rooms during Addy’s second year, she noticed Luna wandering around, looking lost. Addy decided to help her out and upon noticing Luna’s handcrafted jewelry, knew they would be best friends. Of course, with both of them wandering around, it earned them both detentions with Snape, but Addy considered it more time with Luna (even if they couldn’t talk freely). |
Cedric Diggory: | Addy was never interested in team sports, but loved flying. Unfortunately, brooms were never her style. She tried enchanting her longboard to fly, but couldn’t get it quite right at first. Cedric saw what she was up to and at one point saved her from a nasty fall. They began talking and he secretly helped her with her flying longboard, which lead to more talking about other things and they became good friends. Cho didn’t like this, but Addy never put pressure on Cedric to choose friends over heart. |
RIVALS:
Hermione Granger: | From the time Addy first met her on the train, she felt dejected. It wasn’t that Addy wanted to be first in everything, but Hermione seemed too be so good at everything, why bother putting in the effort? Once Addy began to see how human Hermione was how she wasn’t good at everything, Addy began trying harder—not necessarily t beat Hermione, but to get Hermione to see she had an equal. |
---|
ENEMIES:
Draco Malfoy and his crew: | See above. |
---|---|
Cho Chang: | Cho didn’t like Addy, thinking she was putting moves on her boyfriend, which Addy wasn’t. Addy could ignore Cho’s glares and snide remarks, but Addy wouldn’t stand for all of the falsehoods Cho spread about her. They remained hostile towards each other, even after Cedric’s death. |
CRUSH:
LOVE ATTITUDE STYLE:
STORGE - AGAPE
STORGE: | Freindship love |
---|---|
AGAPE: | Selfless love. |
LOVE LANGUAGE:
Acts of Service - Physical Touch
ACTS OF SERVICE: | Goes out of her way to do things for people she cares about without wanting anything in return. |
---|---|
PHYSICAL TOUCH: | She craves small touches--brushes of hands, or ankles, a hug here or there. Kisses are nice, but there is a time and place for it--at home. Alone. |
ATTACHMENT STYLE:
SECURE: Has a strong sense of self and they desire close associations with others. They are secure in their independence and in their close relationships.
SKILLS:
Urho holds singing classes, so he taught Addy how to sing, and she immediately joins the choir club at Hogwarts. When the Basilisk is loose in the school, Addy joins the dueling club, but when it appears that Hogwarts is continually in danger, Magnolia teaches Addy how to read a wand’s movement in order to effectively predict the spell and either block, counter, or reflect it back at them.
GOALS, MOTIVATIONS AND OBSTACLES
POSITIVE EXTERNAL: | The want of respect and recognition, which is motivated by the rejection of her classmates, but distractions get in the way. I have the same goal for her within the story. |
---|---|
NEGATIVE EXTERNAL: | Her negative external goal is that she doesn't have a goal, and chooses not to help themselves or others, which is motivated by peer pressure. I am going against the goal for her in the story by using her unrealistic expectations as an obstacle. |
POSITIVE INTERNAL: | To find their purpose in life, to achieve their highest potential, which is motivated by vengeance, but her rushing and taking too large of steps gets in the way. I have a different goal for the character in the story. |
NEGATIVE INTERNAL: | To find safety and security, even at the cost of themselves or others, which is motivated by pride, but the thought of failing gets in the way. I am going against the goal for the character in the story. |
BACKSTORY:
With Magnolia providing structure and discipline, and Urho encouraging creativity and freedom, Adrasteia had a happy and balanced childhood; although the dichotomy of Magnolia’s and Urho’s relationship confused her. They cared enough about each other to call it love, but it didn’t seem to be a romantic type of love. Magnolia had hoped that Adrasteia was a squib, just so they could continue to hide away from Magnolia’s mother and away from Lucius Malfoy, so she had mixed feelings and mixed reactions when Addy’s magic became apparent when one of Addy’s childhood classmate’s tongue swelled up and turned purple. Addy became angry when this classmate made fun of her over her parents—how one was old, how they couldn’t really love each other, that they’ll probably divorce, etc. The affliction eventually faded and was dismissed by doctors saying it was just an allergy.
Magnolia and Urho told her about magic, Hogwarts, and even about Death Eaters and the “one who shall not be named.” It explained so much of her fearfulness and paranoid behavior, constantly trying to shelter Addy from the world so much that Urho had to beg Magnolia and convince her that going to a public school would be good for her, and she would learn more about the world she was supposed to be living in. Urho added on with his experience with Grindelwald. This was to teach Addy not to abuse her magic, but Magnolia’s tone also made it clear that she didn’t want Addy to be in Slytherin's house.
But Merlin was Slytherin. Other good witches and wizards were of Slytherin's house. Addy just assumed her mom was just being paranoid again and wanted to show her that Slytherin's house was just a room in a building.
They waited patiently, and Addy finally received her letter to Hogwarts.
First Year:
met Neville Longbottom and Hermione Granger on the train, and when she went to help look for Neville's toad, Trevor, she met Draco and his gang. Reconsiders wanting to be in Slytherin, but wanting to put Draco's pointed nose in its proper place is tempting.
Addy helps Neville in potions, and tells Snape on numerous occasions that he was overstepping his boundaries as a teacher and was abusing his power, which earns her detentions and house points being taken away. Her house-mates start focusing their bullying on Addy instead of Neville, but Addy always fought back in her own way. Mostly verbal barbs and ignoring them completely.
Neville was hesitant, learning that Addy wanted to be in Slytherin, and she constantly told Neville that he needed to grow a spine, but they eventually became friends.
She joins the choir club with Flitwick.
Second Year:
After hearing that Addy made it to Slytherin, her grandmother started trying to contact her through letters. Magnolia always intercepted these letters and told Addy to contact Dumbledore if she ever receives these letters at school.
She joins the dueling club.
When the students are sent to their houses and are under strict curfew, Addy noticed a first-year Ravenclaw girl, named Luna Lovegood, lost. Addy tries to escort her back to her house, all the while talking about each other's interests and Draco snitches to Snape. Snape put them all under detention. When Draco complained so much that Snape went and made him do something worse to do during detention, Luna and Addy chatted some more and became friends.
Third Year:
With her grandmother's continued efforts to make contact, Addy's mother started teaching her how to recognize wand movement patterns in order to block, counter or reflect the oncoming attacks. With Snape's and Lupin's teachings and some self-study, she improved enough to consistently beat students much older than her. Half the time with seventh-year students. It got to the point that Snape began to train the other students to better match her, but usually in failure.
Fourth Year:
Due to the Death Eater attack at the quidditch tournament, Addy gets picked on by her own house, namely Draco hinting that maybe she and her family would be on the Death Eater's hit list, as well as other houses for being in Slytherin. She tries not to let it get her down though, since she, Luna, and Neville can celebrate the fact she earned a solo position in the choir club.
A Beaustram student[1] keeps asking Addy out despite her repeated declines. She was busy with choir club, dueling club, her studies, trying to get her longboard to fly, and she wasn't interested in dating someone she didn't even know. Plus, she wanted to enjoy the Yule Ball alone and with her friends. After his repeated efforts, it just annoyed her and rubbed her the wrong way. Neville didn't understand why she couldn't just give him a chance, and they got into a tiff.
The night of the Yule Ball, the student feigned to be apologetic and lured her into an empty classroom to attack her. Snape and Karkarov, the headmaster of Durmstrang, heard the commotion and saved Addy; although Karkarov dismissed it as frivolous teenage shenanigans. Snape knew her well enough that that was not the case, and tried to convince Addy to report it to Dumbledore. Snape had to report what he saw, but Addy was scared. Did she do something? Will there be any more repercussions?
She tells Dumbledore the theatrical cut of the cliff notes version of events. Because the Triwizard tournament was supposed to unite the schools, and the offending student wasn't a Hogwarts student, even if she pressed charges, it wouldn't amount to anything. Madame Maxime, the headmaster of Beaustram, protects her student, trying to save the reputation of her school, and Karkarov belittles her. In the end, it was ordered that they stay away from each other.
Dumbledore sent a letter to Addy's mother, and the family stayed at the Hogsmeade for a couple of weeks. Their talk reassures her that this was not her fault and that no matter what she decided, whether she wanted to pursue charges or not, they would love and support her. As long as he stayed away from her, she would be fine, so she decided not to do anything more.
The rumor mill spread like wildfire, and Addy became standoffish and temperamental, which lead to getting into arguments with Neville and Luna and isolating herself. The Beaustram student cornered her in an empty hall, telling her to tell people that he didn't attack her. Cedric happened to be walking by and separated them. Addy helps him with dueling techniques and they talk about other things, becoming friends. Draco spreads the rumor that she was trying to steal Cedric from Cho, which made other students reevaluate the rumor between her and the Beaustram student. Cedric told Cho and other people that it wasn't true, but it didn't help.
Cedric died, and Addy mourned the only person that had stuck with her. She may have not liked Harry Potter, but she knew him well enough that he wouldn't lie about something as serious as Voldemort, the leader of the Death Eaters, being alive and walking. She apologized to Neville and Luna and told them everything. The Beaustram student confronted her again, saying that Maxime had been laying on him and that it's her fault. He took out his wand and tried to attack her, but she blasted him. Some students saw, and Addy didn't hesitate this time to tell Dumbledore everything. Maxime is angered and drags him to the carriage, expelling him from the school.
Fifth Year:
Magnolia worked at a muggle (non-magical person) hospital and noticed all of the eerie accidents. She was part of the Order of the Phoenix, so she sends Addy to Sirius's Grimmauld Place and tells Addy about her grandparents. How they're obsessed with being recognized as a pure-blood family, power and manipulation, and the mirrored room. She gets to know Harry, Hermione, Ron, Fred, and George some more, but they would never be more than acquaintances.
Through Snape, she delivered a wooden puzzle box to Addy. Addy also received the Prefect's Badge in the mail. Snape assured her she wasn't the only one he recommended as a Prefect on his list.
Upon listening to Umbridge's welcoming speech, Addy spirals down into her no-fucks-given mode and starts rebelling. She gets even more detentions rebelling against Umbridge's classes and policy, even more than usual. It gets serious enough that Snape has to save her from expulsion and unintentionally inspires her to start a secret dueling club.
She instead joins Dumbledore's Army (DA), fooling Draco's Inquisitorial club on their nightly patrols. Due to her being in the Slytherin house, she receives passive-aggressive comments in the DA. The only people that want her there is Luna, and while Addy and Hermione were intense rivals, they both understood that all houses had to work together.
She shares her dueling club secrets. Some students pick it up and others struggle. When it comes to the Patronus Charm, Addy couldn't manage to manifest one. For some members, this was proof that Addy was evil, and a secret Death Eater, but Neville and Luna were adamant that this wasn't the case. Addy has had a happy life, filled with love and support, but she couldn't seem to recall a memory strong enough. Plus, the memories of her attack from the Yule Ball and Cedric's death clouded her thoughts.
Snape got fed up with her because she couldn't decide on her career path, so she just checked off some random boxes, which annoyed Snape even more, and chose to not drop any classes.
Sixth Year:
Addy notices that Snape really loves being a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and is actually good at it. A nice change from four out of five previous teachers, Lupis being the sole exception. Learning non-verbal magic really gives her an edge at the dueling club that was reinstated this year, and she's pretty much unbeatable.
Snape still bullied some students, but after Snape stuck up for her during the Triwizard tournament, and saving her from expulsion, Addy decided she just wanted a quiet and smooth year. She didn't speak out or interrupt his classes, which earns criticism from Harry, Hermione, and Neville.
Snape, on the other hand, continued to passive-aggressively "counsel" her into choosing a field, but she showed such a lack of interest in focusing on one subject, he just continued to criticize her.
Through word of mouth and her dueling club demonstration, Fudge invited her to the Slug Club. Why not? It was another way she could rub it in Draco's desperate-for-attention face.
She was genuinely shocked and disappointed to learn that Snape killed Dumbledore and was a Death Eater under Voldemort's thumb. It didn't make sense to her. He wouldn't have cared so much about her career choice, he wouldn't have stuck up for her, and in his own twisted way, he wouldn't seem to care. Her mind began to spiral.
Seventh Year:
Snape became the new headmaster, and the Carrow siblings, Death Eaters, became teachers where they had students torture each other. She requested a meeting with Snape, where, over and over, he would delay it, until he finally had enough and accepted the meeting. Addy told him she didn't understand how he could care so much about her wellbeing, but still be a so-called Death Eater. Why did Dumbledore have to die? It didn't make sense, and she wanted answers. Snape told her to keep quiet and just do as the teachers asked, and when she argued back, Snape had the Carrow siblings escort her out.
Addy finally managed to enchant her longboard to fly, and she wanted to test it out at Luna's place. She and Luna spent Christmas together, and they were kidnapped to the Malfoy's mansion where Addy met her grandmother for the first time. Eloise sent a message to Magnolia, and Magnolia and Urho went to the mansion. Protecting Magnolia, Urho died protecting her. Addy struggled in a Death Eater's arms, pleading for them to stop. Magnolia looked right into Lucius's eyes, and yells, "If our promise means anything to you, you'll protect our daughter!" Lucius was bewildered and took him a second to register her words, but Eloise didn't need that long to kill her. Her granddaughter was a pure-blood, and part of the Malfoy family tree at that.
Addy puts up a bigger fight, but her grandmother stuns her unconscious. When she wakes up, she's strapped to a bed. Eloise asks her to comply and be a good girl, but when Addy spits at her, Eloise leaves her restrained in the mirrored room, with the lie that Luna was dead.
The dementor-boggart hybrid changed into Cedric, her mom, her father, and Luna, all blaming her and wearing her down mentally and emotionally.
Lucius requests Snape to help break her, despite Eloise being convinced she has it handled. In reality, Lucius needs help to free her. Weeks later, Lucius and Eloise come in and offer her a tea that will make her compliant, calm, and make the hurt go away. Addy takes the cup and considers it, but she smells rosemary and looks at herself in the mirror. She lowers the cup and calmly pours scalding hot tea in her grandmother's lap, also tipping over the plate with the kettle.
With a renewed sense of drive, she lays back down in the bed, as if to say she accepted the challenge. They leave the room, and the hybrid reappears. It changes forms, continuing to blame her, to say she's a horrible daughter and friend. While she still felt guilt, she apologized to them, and she loved them, but their deaths weren't her fault. Good-bye. The monster didn't have what it needed to feed, so it backed away, just as her mother had told her it would.
She remembers Urho's lessons about the ancient wizards, before they took the branches from the sacred tree, they still wielded magic. Children, before they received their wands, could still wield magic. She remembered the girl whose tongue turned purple and swelled in her mouth.
She performs a lumos spell in the palm of her hand, and the monster, hating its reflection, disintegrated. She performs a wandless alohomora, unlocking the door, and runs down the hall, running into Lucius. Before he could say anything, she performs a stupify spell, thrusting him back down the hall. She searched his coat and found her wand. It took too much concentration to perform wandless spells, and she couldn't afford any hesitation. Plus, the accio longboard spell was definitely too hard to perform wandless. She flies out the nearest window, dodging spells, and when she felt after, she disapparated (teleported) to Hogsmeade, intending to go back to Hogwarts. It was the only safe place she could think of.
Snape convinces her grandmother that Addy would be sufficiently disciplined at Hogwarts, and her efforts were sadly wasted, along with being a waste of Voldemort's time and consideration. Snape punished her by locking her in the dungeon. As a sarcastic joke, she asked for her mother's puzzle box so her brain wouldn't rot, but Snape complied. She solved the puzzle box to find Voldemort's enchanted snake's anti-venom with directions on how to use it. After hearing of Harry's return, he lets her out, telling her to find someplace safe to be. She meets the DA in the Room of Requirement.
When Luna returned to Hogwarts, Addy practically tackled her, crying in relief and happiness. In the Great Hall, Voldemort made his announcement to send Harry out, Addy points her wand at Pansy who wanted to comply with Voldemort. McGonagall ordered all Slytherins out. Addy guides the students out through the Room of Requirement, is last, and darts away from Filch. She retrieved her longboard and followed Harry's group to the shrieking shack.
After Voldemort attacks Snape and leaves, Addy hurried from her hiding place and tried to save him with the anti-venom. Even after he passed out, she continued to try, and stays with him, even after Harry and Hermione's urging her to come with them. Ron didn't care one way or another. Addy could hear the battle, and wonders if she should have gone with them. While she stayed there, away from the carnage, her best friends were in danger.
When Snape seemed to have stabilized, she prepared herself to go and fetch Madame Pomfrey, the school nurse, and check on Luna and Neville. Snape woke up and saved her from some stray Death Eaters she hadn't seen. There were lingering dementors around. Thinking of when she saw Luna, alive, she finally summoned her patronus: bats. Lots of them. She sent one of them to Luna and Nevill to let them know they were coming to help. McGonagall met them, and after Harry explained the truth, allowed them to help the wounded and fend off any lingering dementors or Death Eaters.
After the war, the next morning, the Ministry came and arrested any lingering criminals, including Snape despite the protests from her and Harry. Luna's and Neville's families come. No one came for Addy. Luna turned around and offered her a hand and a home.
Snape's hearing is the start of the story.
